The three-year SNS stream B-01-02 project TERRAMETA focuses on THz reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) for ultra-high rate wireless communications and targets novel THz hardware development and testing (including CMOS/memristors/microfluidics switches and multi-functional metasurfaces (i.e., T-RIS, R-RIS, hybrid RISs with sensing capability, dynamic metasurface antennas and holographic MIMO)), as well as the development of relevant network architectures with realistic models, and novel signal processing techniques for RIS-empowered THz communications, localization, and sensing.
The kickoff meeting was in January 2023, at INESC TEC (Porto, Portugal).
