Prof. George Alexandropoulos co-organized two workshops in the framework of IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) framework in Denver, CO, USA from 9-13 June 2024:
2nd Workshop on Near-Field Communications, Localization, and Sensing,
3rd Workshop on Synergies of Communication, Localization, and Sensing towards 6G
and gave the tutorial:
Full-duplex MIMO for Simultaneous Communications and Sensing
Additionally, Prof. George Alexandropoulos delivered a lecture at the Distinguished Lecture Series organized by the IEEE COMSOC Chicago Chapter on 14 June 2024. The lecture entitled “Multi-RIS-empowered smart wireless networks: Capacity characterization and environment learning potential” addressed reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) and their optimization as well as recent results on the capacity limits of multi-RIS-enabled smart wireless environments; presented hybrid RISs (simultaneous reflecting and sensing) and their capability for self-optimization, localization/sensing, and sensing-aided communications; and detailed a deep reinforcement learning approach for online management of multi-RIS-empowered multi-user MIMO systems.
